3. Measure the period of time necessary for accumulating the proper amount of water in each can.
The time which is needed for the accumulation of 1-2 inches of water per container should be nearly the same. But the regulation is required for nearly all sprinkles and sprinkle heads. Watering patterns should overlap in order that each spot could have the same amount of water.
Lawn irrigation of specific lawn types There is grass which requires a lot of water and also the grass with very low water demands. Homeowners that have springs or wells or those whose communities consistently demand sprinkling bans, need to pick grasses that have low water requirements. Look through the types of grasses: 1) Cool-season grasses (grow in northern regions of North America): Bluegrass requires a lot of water; Perennial ryegrass has medium demands; Fairway wheat and Fescue grasses require the lowest amount of water.
2) Warm-season grasses (grow in southern regions): the types of grasses that are appropriate for lawns in the south need low to medium amount of water. To the grasses with the lowest water requirement belong Bahia, Centipede, Seashore paspalum, and Zoysia grasses; Bermuda, St. Augustine, and Carpet grass, have medium demands.
3) Transition-area grasses (North American natives that grow well in either northern or southern regions): Bluestem and Buffalo grasses both have medium water demands.
The industry of turf grass presents almost every year new "improved cultivars" which include different kinds of grass. Homeowner that wants to buy a new lawn should study new types of cultivars in order to choose the most appropriate one.
