Landscape Planning
View from all angles

It is important to first take a good walk around your property and ask yourself, 'What aspects do I want to let in and what would I like to block out?'

- Avoid getting bogged down in the details only to find that the pergola blocks out the water views, whilst the spa is in direct vision of the neighbors kitchen window.

- Any good garden design will ensure this does not happen, but it is good to discuss with a landscaping professional how you can maximize your views and privacy.

- Many parents like to be able to keep an eye on their children's play area, so keep in mind what aspects of your garden are visible from the inside of the house.

- A popular vantage point for parents is the kitchen window.

Timing

Your finishing date is part of the garden design process.

- Landscaping experts suggest that you need to plan months in advance; six months before you want it done is ideal.

- Giving plenty of time to complete a landscape project means that you can shop around for the right landscaper, at the right price.

- If you want the project completed before Christmas, start the ball rolling around July and August.
